Youth Services System, Inc. is designated as the Region 1 Prevention Lead Organization for the WV DHHR Bureau for Behavioral Health and the Office of Drug Control Policy, providing prevention, early intervention & harm reduction services in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall & Wetzel counties, the northern panhandle of West Virginia. The Prevention Services Department, known to the community as Prevention North, supports community-based coalitions in the delivery of comprehensive evidence-based prevention strategies. We are trained to provide strategies aimed at decreasing substance use among high-risk WV youth, reducing prescription drug misuse, as well as reducing the negative outcomes associated with Substance Use Disorder by providing intensive community preventative measures.
Community change takes the community. Our prevention efforts include a variety of coalitions and collaborations.

We are fortunate to partner with local organizations to represent prevention in every county of the northern panhandle. These organizations receive sub-grants from the YSS Prevention Services Department in order to pursue prevention in their area. They include:

- Ohio County Impact Coalition (Held by YSS)
- Marshall County Health Department
- Wetzel & Tyler County Center for Children and Families, Inc.
